About this build
The Grand ADU is a detached ADU currently under construction. Work began by clearing and excavating the backyard, followed by formed and reinforced concrete footings and a poured slab, set on a rebar grid over a vapor barrier.
The structure is now framed: the exterior and interior walls are up with their window openings framed, and the roof framing is in place overhead.
As with every ADU San Mateo project, the design, structural engineering, and city permitting are handled in-house. The clips below follow the build from site clearing through framing.
