About this build
The Andrew Penny ADU is a planned 997 sq ft detached ADU, currently in the pre-construction phase. The plans lay out two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen and dining area with a pantry, and a living room and gym area under vaulted ceilings.
Outside, a 247 sq ft covered porch opens through wide arches toward the pool, and a pergola is planned nearby. The design pairs smooth plaster walls and tall arched windows with a clay tile roof.
As with every ADU San Mateo project, the design, structural engineering, and city permitting are handled in-house. The clips below show the site as it is today, before work begins.
